THE works of 12 local artists are currently on display at the atrium of the Seri Q-lap Mall, in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne.
The exhibition was opened yesterday by Brunei Art Forum Chairman Dato Paduka Haji Shofry bin Haji Abdul Ghafor, who toured the venue and interacted with the artists themselves.
One corner features the drawings and hand-made cards of Quinn Quinn Lau Jun, a remarkable 11-year-old autistic child who attends International School Brunei (ISB) and has a passion for the arts.
According to Muhd Radzuan bin Haji Madali, the co-owner of Hidden Treasures Company, which is jointly organising the exhibition with Seri Q-lap Mall, “This is our way of acknowledging our local artists and exposing their talents to the general public.”
Several activities, including photography and caricature sessions, are also being held alongside the exhibition, which closes tomorrow with a colouring contest and a prize presentation.
