NATIONAL leaders of the 44th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) had an audience with the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe at his official residence in Shibuya recently.
Muhammad Ihsan Sabri @ Zayn bin Abdul Manap, the national leader together with youth leaders, Muhammad Hanis bin Haji Ibrahim and Nabilah binti Masli had the opportunity to meet with the Japanese Prime Minister and state leaders.
According to a press release, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe congratulated the youth leaders on the 50th anniversary of Asean and encouraged participants of SSEAYP to learn and discover other cultures while preserving the uniqueness of their own cultures.
The Brunei contingent also participated in the 44th SSEAYP opening ceremony at the New Otani Hotel, officiated by the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Cabinet Office of Japan, Masaji Matsuyama.
Muhammad Hanis, in his capacity as Brunei Youth Leader, expressed his gratitude to the Government of Japan for successfully organising the programme.
The ceremony also saw the exchange of gifts of 44th SSEAYP contingent. The group also met with Fumiaki Matsumoto, the Japanese State Minister of Cabinet Office.
