IN CONJUNCTION with the monthly Kuala Belaitku Ceria event along Jalan Sungai in the Belait District, the Brunei Jet Sports Association (BJSA) recently hosted Round 2 of the Enduro Jet Ski Challenge 2017.
The 15 lap race saw more than 16 riders from Brunei and Miri taking part in the challenge. Categories of the Enduro Jet Ski Challenge 2017 included 130 Category (Normal Aspirated), 200 Category (Normal Aspirated), and 300 Open Category.
First place winner for the 130 category (Normal Aspirated) was Mohd Abdillah Yaman from Miri; while the first place winner for the 200 category (Normal Aspirated) and 300 Open category was Dzul Iskandar Abdullah from Brunei, and Elegarnon Clayton Mundaw from Miri, Sarawak. Top four riders from each category also received prizes.
Kifli bin Haji Azahari, Assistant Municipal Secretary of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Department presented the prizes.
Hazirah Sulaiman, Secretary of BJSA said the objective of the event was to promote the sports of Jet Ski in Brunei. Additionally she also mentioned, “the event was also an opportunity to raise awareness on safety on the waters when partaking in
such sports”.
Speaking on the challenge, she explained, “Previously held in March, the Round 1 of the Enduro Jet Ski Challenge 2017 was held in Serasa Beach, Brunei-Muara District, and saw riders from Brunei, Miri as well as Kuala Lumpur partaking in the round one of the challenge,” she said.
She also said the competition will continue into Round 3 in November at Serasa Beach, and points will be allocated to riders who had partaken in the earlier rounds.
