Info Dept receives S’pore delegation

THE Information Department of the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday received a delegation of Singapore officials from the Officer Exchange Programme, which comes under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Broadcasting and Information between the Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.

Deputy Director (Messaging and Engagement) at the Ministry of Communications and Information, Singapore, Shakera Stationwala led the five-member delegation.

Information Department officer Ali Termizzi bin Haji Ramlli @ Ramli briefed the visiting officers on the Information Department’s work strategy, before they viewed a presentation on ‘Ristaan Sempena Memperingati Penubuhan Jabatan Penerangan ke-65 Tahun.’

The two parties exchanged information on various issues, which was followed by a question and answer session.

The delegation also toured a mini-exhibit area and the Pelita Brunei Division.

The Officer Exchange Programme aims to give exposure and allows for information sharing on the roles and functions of both governments of Brunei and the Republic of Singapore; and to preserve the image of the monarch, nation and the government through information that is accurate and with authority.

The Information Department, previously Brunei Information Service, was established on April 1, 1952, and is tasked with the responsibility of dissemination information and news pertinent to government policies, activities, programmes, current issues and the agenda of the mass media.
