BRUNEI Darussalam’s runner Sefli Ahar of Sketchers reigned supreme at the Beach Bunch’s Night Trail Challenge 2017 after winning the 20km category which started at Jerudong Beach recently.
The runner clocked an unbeatable time of 1:31:13 followed by Shah Azahar who posted a time of 1:34:50 as first runners-up and Mohammad Samsul Zamri of Victory Squadron with a time of 1:41:55 as second runners-up.
Meanwhile in the women’s 20km category, Canada’s Emilie Tan of Compressport Singapore clinched the title with a winning time of 1:55:38 followed by Netherlands’ Yvette Kortekaas of Victory Squadron with a time of 2:08:16 and Brunei’s Airince Liam with a time of 2:15:58.
Brunei’s Muhammad Nor Risman Ismail claimed the men’s 10km title after registering a time of 46s while New Zealand’s Kirsty Witkowski-smith won the women’s 20km title after posting a time of 1:05:20.
Organised by Beach Bunch for the second time with the previous night race held in 2016, nearly 500 participants from 14 nationalities including a few regional elite runners from Singapore and Malaysia took part in the race.
