Foreign students experience Brunei culture

SOME 21 students from Innova Junior College Singapore participated in a community project organised by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) at the recreational park of the RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau yesterday.

The students are in the country under the Malay Language Elective Programme (MLEP) Overseas Immersion Trip 2017.

Present at the event was Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs in his capacity as a member of the Board of Directors of Yayasan.

Managing Director of Yayasan, Dato Paduka Eddie bin Dato Paduka Haji Sunny and Yayasan’s volunteer committee members were also present.

Haji Hairul Azri bin Haji Salamat, Deputy Chairman of RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau Village Consultative Council expressed gratitude to Yayasan and the students for the community project.

The activity immersed the students into Bruneian culture especially in making traditional food, such as ambuyat, celurut, penyaram and more.

Kasyfil Aziz bin Haji Jumat, Assistant Public Relations Officer presented a briefing on the background of Yayasan.
