TO ASSIST the children a family whose parents have recently passed away in a car accident, the Technical and Vocational Unit of the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) presented a donation at their 4th At-Tabarru’ Bil Khairat programme in conjunction with Israk Mikraj 1437H/2016M held yesterday at Kampong Kuala Lurah.
Present as the guest of honour was Ustazah Hajah Rusita binti Haji Yahya, Director of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The student who received the assistance was Dzul Jalaliwalhikam bin Mohammad Daud, a markerfitter student in the Mechanical Training Centre. Both his parents passed away in a car accident on December 17, 2015. Dzul Jalaliwalhikam and his eight other siblings now live with his uncle.
The event began with a recitation of verses of the Al-Quran by teachers and officers from the Islamic Religious Knowledge (IRK) Section, followed by Tahlil and Doa Tahlil led by Cikgu Shaifulbahri bin Haji Ahmad.
This programme is a community service programme aimed at teaching students to assist the community, especially students in technical and vocational schools. Programmes such as these will give exposure to the students on charity work and instill concern toward those in need.
