THE Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA) yesterday organised a closing ceremony for KACA’s 2017 programme and activities and a prize presentation ceremony for KACA storytelling competition at the centre in Kampong Kiulap.
Dato Paduka Haji Zainal bin Haji Momin, the President of KACA as the guest of honour presented the prizes.
Also present were Haji Abdul Alim bin Haji Othman, the Managing Director of KACA and members of KACA.
In the KACA storytelling competition, the first prize was won by Sharlin Zefanya binti Arweandy who took home $50, while second place went to Norhabibah binti Abdullah who walked away with $40 and in third place was Siti Norayshikin binti Md Saiful Jasmi who won $30.
Meanwhile, in the fourth and fifth places were Amal Farzana Shairah binti Abdullah and Mohd Hafiz Syafie bin Romei who received a consolation prize of $15 each.
This was followed by a prize presentation ceremony for six children of KACA who had excellent attendance throughout 2017, four children who actively participated in external programmes of KACA and four parents who actively participated in KACA’s activities throughout 2017.
Among the objectives of the ceremony were to encourage the children of KACA to participate in programmes and activities conducted by KACA, improve their skills in speaking and writing, and encourage them to generate spontaneous ideas and be confident in speaking.
