THE Brunei December Festival 4×4 Jamboree 2017 kicked-off yesterday in a welcoming ceremony at the main campsite held at the oldest forest in Brunei-Wasai Bedanu.
The jamboree is a two-night four-wheel drive gathering aimed at bringing together enthusiasts from Brunei and around the region. Participants gathered at the main campsite at Bedanu in Mukim Kiudang.
During the event, participants are expected to participate in an off-road adventure, navigating through some of the challenging trails in Ladan.
About 120 participants, from as young as seven to 67, made the camp, mingled around and exchanged stories and experiences related to four-wheel driving.
The guest of honour Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Tourism) at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), officiated the jamboree by setting up the main campfire.
Present were Atiqah Norsauzelah binti Haji Abdullah, the Event Director for Brunei December Festival 4×4 Jamboree, and senior officers from the MPRT.
The event – managed by EnTee Event Management – saw the guest of honour presenting tokens of appreciation to participants.
The first acknowledgement – for the biggest team joining the jamboree – went to Team TTK 4×4, which has seven vehicles and 16 members.
