THE Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ Wives Welfare Committee (BAKTI) held a donation ceremony at the Bolkiah Garrison yesterday, for the primary schools within the RBAF camps.
During the ceremony, Pengiran Datin Nuur ‘Izzah Nabilah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad Mahdi Al-Sufri, the President of BAKTI, presented $100 vouchers to representatives from Pantai Berakas Primary School, Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei Primary School, Tutong Camp Primary School and Binturan Primary School at the Penanjong Camp.
The parents and guardians of special needs students at the Gurkha Reserve Unit also received vouchers for the purchase of school essentials.
In her welcoming remarks, the President of BAKTI said, “In August this year, BAKTI held a family day aimed at raising funds to help orphans, special needs children and underprivileged students of schools within the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) camps, in addition to strengthening ties among the families and communities in the RBAF.”
She added, “Thanks to the support of the families participating in the event, as well as individual contributions, we have successfully raised more than $4,000.
“Members of the BAKTI administrative committee also contributed to the fund, to help ease the burden of parents preparing their children for school in 2018.”
The President of BAKTI also presented certificates to Samima Sdn Bhd and Oddbox Pictures Sdn Bhd, as a gesture of appreciation.
