THE Brunei Darussalam National Anti-Drug Association (BASMIDA) hosted a Maulidur Rasul celebration yesterday at the residence of Pengiran Laila Kanun Diraja Pengiran Haji Bahrin bin Pengiran Haji Abas in Kampong Jerudong.
Present at the event was Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohammad Ali, the President of BASMIDA.
Also in attendance was Hajah Linda Aini binti Abdullah, the Vice President of BASMIDA and chairperson of the event.
In her welcoming remarks, Hajah Linda Aini expressed hope to see the religious event continued on a regular basis.
Datin Hajah Masni, in her speech, said continuous participation at such gatherings would motivate them to revere Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) more, in addition to gaining blessings from Allah the Almighty.
She also congratulated the male Dikir group of BASMIDA for its active involvement in the nightly prayer sessions at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, prior to the Maulidur Rasul celebration on December 2, 2017.
The gathering continued with a religious talk entitled ‘Rasulullah Qudwah Pemimpin Adil’ by Ustaz Dr Andus Haji Ismuhadi bin Haji Abdullah, a guest speaker from the Islamic Da’wah Centre.
Later, there was a performance from BASMIDA’s male and female Dikir groups, which was followed by the recitation of Doa Selamat and Surah ’Asr, marking the end of the event.
