DR HAJI Kamaruddin bin Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib, Chairman of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brunei Darussalam (NCCIBD) and President of Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DPPMB) recently received regional recognition for playing a positive role in enhancing economic and trade cooperation between China and Brunei Darussalam.
He is among the 10 enterprises, entrepreneurs and leaders of chambers of commerce from Asean member countries who received awards recently in Beijing, China.
The China-Asean Business Council and Asean Committee Beijing co-hosted the award ceremony.
The representative host, Stanley Loh Ka Leung, Singapore’s Ambassador to China, presented the awards for ‘Outstanding Contributor for Promoting Asean-China Economic and Trade Cooperation’ to the 10 winners.
As the leader of the biggest chamber of commerce and industry in Brunei, Dr Haji Kamaruddin often shows hospitality to China’s business delegations to Brunei and leads delegations to China every year, acting as a bridge for cooperation between Chinese and Bruneian enterprises.
Besides, he serves as chairman of many cooperation committees established between China and Asean, actively enhancing industrial and enterprise cooperation between both sides. He is the first president of the Brunei-China Friendship Association and has been in this position for 12 years.
