TEACHERS need to be more innovative and creative to have a positive effect on their students’ reception and understanding.
This was highlighted by Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education, during the one-day conference held yesterday in conjunction with the 27th Teacher’s Day celebration.
Dr Haji Azman said support from the relevant stakeholders, including parents, is conducive to producing quality students.
On the subject of technical education, he said, “The country needs graduates with expertise and high knowledge in the industrial sector. Therefore, the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) has been entrusted to prepare technical graduates who are well-qualified and competent in fulfilling the demand in our industrial sector.
“All instructors are encouraged to broaden their knowledge and perspective of the current industrial sector, so that they will be more capable of producing graduates with skills suited to the demands of the industry.”
Dr Haji Azman also urged teachers to continue with their proactive efforts in effective teaching and learning.
“I hope that this conference will inspire all educators to continuously enhance their work quality and to be more dynamic in shouldering their duties as teachers,” he said, reminding them to be more disciplined and resourceful, to achieve excellent results for their schools.
