He broke both records set by Joshua Young who recorded a time of 1:20.15 in the 100m butterfly and 1:21.96 in the 100m backstroke both in April 2012.

Breanna also joined the list of record breakers after clocking a time of 1:20.47 in the 100m butterfly for 11 years old girls, eclipsing a time of 1:23.20 set by Ashley Chai in April 2012.

ISB Hammerheads ensured that they topped the medal standings after the quartet of Breanna, Ian Guillou, Leilani Stowers and Toby Heath struck gold quite comfortably with a time of 4:48.72s in the Mixed 10-13 years 400m freestyle relay.

Royal Brunei Recreation Club (RBRC)finished second with a time of 5:13.06 while another ISB Hammerheads team settled for third with a time of 5:16.12.

Panaga Stingrays took third spot with a total of seven gold, four silver and seven bronze.

Brunei Darussalam national swimmer Nur Haziq Samil enjoyed yet another medal laden tournament after scooping three gold medals out of a possible four in the freestyle, butterfly and backstroke events.

His Southeast Asia (SEA) Age Group team-mate Dylan Chua prevented him from a clean sweep in the individual race after taking down the breaststroke event.

Breanna enjoyed unprecedented success after claiming gold in the freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke events in the individual events before being a part of the relay team that romped to gold.

ISB head coach Jeremy was visibly pleased with the performances of his swimmers adding that most of the swimmers improved their personal bests.

“With today’s competition, I am really happy with the performance of the team. Most of the swimmers have created their own personal bests especially Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah,” he said in an interview with the Bulletin.

“She beat the record which had been standing for three years in Brunei set by Breanna,” the head coach continued.

The head coach also labelled the relay team “wonderful” adding that their efforts in training especially those who swim for four to five times a week paid off.

“I think that’s our strongest team for our mixed 10-13 year old age group. It is a talented line-up as we have Breanna, Ian and Toby there.”

He also acknowledged Leilani Stowers of ISB Hammerheads who proved a valuable asset having won the freestyle and butterfly events.

Jeremy also shared that they are planning to compete overseas in Manila in April and Singapore in August to gain exposure.

The club represented the school the last time they competed overseas was during the FOBISIA Games (Federation of British International School in Asia) this year where they were ranked ninth out of 23 schools from 12 countries in Bangkok.

They were ranked third out of 16 schools when Brunei played host last year.
