A NUMBER of residents in Mukim Pengkalan Batu received certificates of appreciation and prizes for their success in meeting their health targets during the launching of the Healthy Mukim Programme at Pengkalan Batu Health Centre recently.

Dahleen bin Haji Maidin used to be a heavy smoker. Aware of his worrying health condition, he decided to join Smoke Cessation Clinic in 2013, and since then has faced challenges in his decision to quit. With a strong will and support, he has managed to stand firm on quitting smoking.

Determined to breastfeed her son, Bahjah binti Haji Salleh is an example for working mothers to achieve success in that area. Despite the needs of her daily job, it has not hindered her from continuing to provide breast milk to her son, and aims to continue doing so until her son is two years old.

As for Zulia binti Haji Harun, she participated in a weight loss programme when she joined Healthy Life Clinic.

Due to her determination, she managed to lose up to 15kg by exercising at least three times a week and practising a healthy diet.

Hajah Robiah binti Haji Ibrahim, 74, also received a certificate of appreciation for maintaining her health without any issues.

The Minister of Health Dato Paduka Dr Haji Md Isham bin Jaafar handed over the certificates and prizes.
