THE Ta’aruf programme for Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque youths was held yesterday, with the intention of instilling a love for the mosque among the younger generation, and fulfilling the mission of having Brunei become a Zikir Nation.
Head Imam of Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque cum Programme Advisor Pengiran Mohd Salehin bin Pengiran Tajudin hopes the programme serves as a platform, bringing youths closer to the mosque.
“We are confident this will enable them to become youths active in mosque activities, and cultivate awareness that the mosque is not just a place to perform prayers but also to perform spiritual activities,” Pengiran Mohd Salehin explained at the closing of the Ta’aruf programme yesterday.
Mosque Affairs Officer of Zone 2A of the Brunei-Muara District cum guest of honour Haji Aziz bin Haji Mohd Yassin presented certificates to 60 participants of the inaugural one-day programme.
Programme Chairman Abdul Wafi bin Ismail noted that the programme was very useful to the Kampong Sungai Besar youths, allowing them to strengthen ties and work with better effectively alongside each other in the future.
“As the youths are an important asset to the country, we need to continuously guide them towards becoming useful youths in the future, so they can achieve the goals of advancing the nation,” he said.
The programme included dawn prayers, religious talks and activities centred around strengthening the values ??of understanding in cooperation, as well as building self confidence.
