A MEETING was recently held between the Acting Village Head of Kampong Pudak, Mukim Kota Batu, Shahri bin Haji Durahim and the Commanding Officer of the Kampong Ayer Police Station, Inspector Hamdan bin Mantul to enable both sides to share on the village’s developments and also information on crime trends and statistics in the area.
The RBPF said such interactions will strengthen the effectiveness of the Neighbourhood Watch and also foster closer ties between the police and village residents.
A surveillance watch jointly organised by the Berakas Police Station and the Kampong Sungai Tilong Neighbourhood Watch was also held recently, focussing on the village’s vicinity including shopping complexes and schools along Jalan Muara to prevent any unlawful activities. The surveillance was led by the Commanding Officer of the Berakas Police Station, ASP Muhammad Wafiy bin Zakaria with five personnel.
The Village Head of Kampong Sungai Tilong, Pengiran Haji Zainal bin Pengiran Haji Bustaman also took part in the surveillance watch with four members of the Kampong Sungai Tilong Neighbourhood Watch.
Meanwhile, in the Temburong District, the Bangar Police Station also carried out a similar activity with the Kampong Puni Neighbourhood Watch. Before the surveillance activity, a short briefing on common crime cases in the area was given by the Bangar Police Station.
The Penghulu of Mukim Bangar, Haji Abdul Rahman bin Merusin took part in the surveillance activity with personnel from the Bangar Police Station. No unlawful activities were recorded.
