DPMM FC looked set to seal the signature of former Shakhtar Donetsk striker Volodymyr Pryyomov as their second foreign import signing for the upcoming S League season, according to the club’s website.

The Ukrainian, who has not been in the initial shortlist of foreign players on trial for the club, will join Iranian import Mojtaba Esmaeilzadeh in the attacking department.

Volodymyr had featured in international level for his country’s under-21 team, managing four goals in 16 appearances.

The Ukrainian boasts experience while playing in the Russian Premier League, most notably for Krylia Sovetav Samara, where he spent one season managing 29 appearances under his belt.

The Odessa-born native was part of the Persepolis team that won the Persian Gulf Pro League last season before returning to Ukraine with Oleksandriya and then Olimpik Donetsk.

Known to acquire innate striker traits, the 32-year old’s main attributes include possessing good anticipation and has a cool composure in front of goal.

He bagged 13 goals in 35 appearances during his time with the now defunct Ukrainian outfit Metalist Kharkiv in his best goal to game ratio in his career.

The latest acquisition means that the Brunei-based outfit are left with one more quota for foreign imports to fill ahead of the new S League season at the end of next month.

The Gegar Gegar men have not opted for a natural foreign midfield player since Joe Gamble during their title-winning campaign in 2015.

The three foreign players in the 2016 season included two forwards and one defender while in the 2017 season the club went for the same arrangement.

The departures of forward Billy Mehmet and defender Francois Marque was followed with the recruitment of Serbian defender Zeljko Savic.

While Savic only served a short spell, the club looked for better fortunes with the arrival of Vincent Salas, who was brought in as a defender and Daud Gazale who played as a winger.

DPMM FC are currently in the advanced stages of their preparations for the upcoming season having strolled to a 6-0 victory over MS ABDB in a warm-up friendly last Wednesday.
