IN CONJUNCTION with the 44th birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), the Varsity Cycle 3.0 held a charitable cycling expedition for the Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM).
UTB Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Dr Zuruzi Abu Samah flagged off over 300 participants from UTB at 6.30am.
Over 300 people participated in the Varsity Cycle 3.0, including UBD Vice-Chancellor Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, and UTB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman.
Other participants included senior officials, lecturers, staff and students of the three universities, as well as members of the public.
Participants cycled along a 44-kilometre route spanning across the Muara-Tutong Highway heading towards the Tungku Link and the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Highway towards Bandar Seri Begawan for the 14-kilometre pit-stop at the Prime Minister’s Office Complex.
They then continued towards Lambak before merging onto the Muara-Tutong Highway to continue on the Rimba Highway. The Varsity Cycle 3.0 finished at the Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Advancement (ILIA), UBD.
