HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade yesterday launched the Kuwait Culture and Arts Week at The Airport Mall’s Atrium in Berakas.
Dr Fahad Mashary Al-Thafiri, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Brunei Darussalam welcomed Her Royal Highness upon arrival.
In his speech, Dr Fahad Mashary Al-Thafiri highlighted the close bilateral relationship between Brunei and Kuwait, through promoting cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchange between both nations.
“This event is a window that provides a glance at Kuwait culture, heritage and history to have a better understanding of Kuwait,” the ambassador said.
“In conjunction with the National Day celebrations of Brunei and Kuwait, it is a wonderful opportunity for us to work with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports to build solid bridges of cultural cooperation and promoting people-to-people exchange between Kuwait and Brunei, with our hope that the people of Kuwait will have the opportunity in the near future to witness a similar event in Kuwait to know more about the rich culture and heritage of Brunei Darussalam.”
Her Royal Highness officially opened the six-day exhibition together with Dr Fahad Mashary Al-Thafiri, who later presented a token of appreciation to Her Royal Highness.
Her Royal Highness also toured the exhibition that showcases the cultural heritage and rich artworks of Kuwait, and witnessed an art performance during the event.
Also present were Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports; and Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, as well as members of foreign Diplomatic Corps and guests.
