A SEARCH and rescue operation is on for a 33-year-old local man who went missing after two boats collided in waters off Pulau Muara Besar (PMB), Muara.
According to information from the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Marine Police received a distress call about a boat mishap in the PMB area.
Initial investigation revealed that two boats collided in the area.
An assistant investigation officer of the Marine Police found a victim at the scene who had not sustained any injuries while another person, named Muhammad bin Haji Zakaria, 33, working with Royal Brunei Armed Forces, was confirmed missing.
The two boats involved in the collision were towed back to the Marine Police for further investigation.
The Special Operation Unit of the Marine Police and the Fire and Rescue Department are leading the search and rescue operation.
