ACCENTUATING the firm and long-standing defence relationship between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) the RBAF Commander, Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, made an introductory visit to Malaysia on March 21-23.
Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence of Malaysia, the RBAF Commander inspected a guard of honour comprising of MAF personnel.
During the visit, the RBAF Commander made separate calls to Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein, the Malaysian Minister of Defence; and Dato Paduka Seri General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi bin Raja Mohamed Noor, Chief of the MAF Defence Force.
Both sides reiterated their mutual commitment to continue bolstering defence ties, while enhancing interaction in areas of common interest through various bilateral and multilateral platforms, with a view of contributing to peace and stability in the region.
As part of the visit, the RBAF Commander toured the Army Training Command Headquarters, the Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre and the MALBATT Village.
He was also hosted to an official dinner by the Chief of the MAF Defence Force.
Both armed forces interact regularly through various platforms of cooperation, such as high-level visits, bilateral and multilateral exercises, professional exchanges and training courses, which have resulted in their close professional relationship and camaraderie.
