SEVERAL activities were conducted between the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and members of the Neighbourhood Watch recently in the Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Belait districts.
In the Brunei-Muara District, Corporal 4604 Hasnan bin Ali along with four focal point members of the Bandar Seri Begawan Central Police Station met with Haji Hanipah bin Begawan Pehin Udana Khatib Haji Junit, the Village Head of Kampong Pelambayan, and Neighbourhood Watch members to discuss matters related with crimes in the village and on conducting religious activities and crime prevention patrol.
Apart from that, a recent cleaning campaign at a Muslim cemetery in Kampong Anggerek Desa received positive feedback from the Neigbourhood Watch members.
The cleaning campaign was led by ASP Muhd Nurfairuz Nazri bin Salleh, Officer-in-Charge of the Berakas Police Station, who was accompanied by Pengiran Roslan bin Pengiran Tuah, Acting Penghulu of Mukim Berakas ‘A’ and Village Head of Kampong Delima Satu, and Haji Zulkifli bin Haji Ya’akub, Village Head of Kampong Pancha Delima. Five Neighbourhood Watch members also participated in the cleaning campaign which aimed to foster a caring attitude and strengthen ties between the police and Neighbourhood Watch members.
In the Tutong District, nine Neighbourhood Watch members of Kampong Penapar recently received their letters of appointment.
Suhairi bin Haji Sukri, Superintendent of Police and Officer Commanding Police District of Tutong Police District, presented the letters of appointment.
Also present were Haji Mahmud bin Haji Abdul Latif, Village Head of Kampong Penapar and Abdul Kahar bin Haji Yahya, a representative of the Tutong District Officer.
Meanwhile, a crime prevention patrol was held in the Belait District as part of the continuous initiative by the RBPF to help maintain peace and harmony of villages.
Among the villages involved were Kampong Sungai Liang and Kampong Lumut 1, led by Haji Mohd Ibrahim bin DMS Dian, Acting Village Head of Kampong Sungai Liang and Haji Abdul Azizi bin Haji Abdul Gani, Acting Village Head of Kampong Lumut 1.
Present during the patrol was Haji Mohammad Helmi bin Haji Abdullah, Assistant Superintendent of Police and Officer-in-Charge of Sungai Liang Police Station, who was accompanied by ten members from the police station, one member from the Sungai Liang Neighbourhood Watch and three members from the Kampong Lumut 1 Neighbourhood Watch. The group along with two police cars patrolled Jalan Kecil Kampong Sungai Bakong and no suspicious activities were found in the area.
