THE Brunei National Road Safety Council (BNRSC) held a mass Sunnat Hajat prayer and reading of Ratib Al-Attas to mark Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims for 2018 at the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Jerudong yesterday.
Present as the chief guest was Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, the Minister of Communications, as the Chaiperson of the BNRSC.
Also present were the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications (MinCom), Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, as the Deputy Chairperson II of the BNRSC; Dr Haji Supry bin Haji Ladi, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the MinCom as the Secretary ofthe BNRSC; and students and teachers of Jerudong Religious School.
The religious gathering was part of the efforts by the BNRSC in coordinating religious activities in answering calls by the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, to make the nation a Zikir Nation and to seek blessings from Allah the Almighty for the nation, especially protection for road users from accidents and any undesirable mishaps.
The event was also part of the continuous effort of the BNRSC to enhance road safety.The BNRSC urged all road users to be more alert while behind the wheel by reciting Doa before making any journey, being cautious, disciplined and considerate, and adhere to road rules and regulations for everyone’s safety.
