SEVERAL compound fines and written warnings were issued during a road traffic operation conducted by the Belait Police District recently, in a continuous effort by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) to ensure motorists abide by traffic rules and regulations in the country.

One compound fine was issued to a motorist during a roadblock by the Sungai Liang Police Station around the vicinity of Zainab Mosque in Kampong Sungai Liang, while four were stopped and searched.

The operation, from 10pm to 1.30am, was led by ASP Haji Mohammad Helmi bin Haji Abdullah, Officer-in-Charge of the Sungai Liang Police Station, with nine personnel.

The Seria Police Station recorded a compound offence to a motorist for driving with an expired drivers’ licence, and five were issued warnings for different offences during an operation at Jalan Tengah.

The operation, led by ASP Pengiran Haji Mohammad Saiful Ariff bin Pengiran Haji Duraman with six personnel from the Seria Police Station, was carried out in the afternoon.

The RBPF reminded the public to always ensure that their important travelling documents are not expired to avoid any legal action taken against them.
