THE Land Transport Department (JPD) through its Enforcement Division recently issued 12 compound fines on eight company drivers and one driver of a private vehicle during operations at ??Muara-Tutong Highway, Jalan Sungai Liang, and the Telisai -Tutong Highway.
The offenders are Peter Lisa of Hausin Sdn Bhd, Alex Puji and Muhamad Sokip Burhanudin of Soon Lee Heavy Machinery; Irvan A Asrosi of Sagamas Sdn Bhd; Trinofiardi of Hock Hin Trading Company; Sundararaj Padivasal of Syarikat Seri Apadi; Rashid Bandaying of LDY Engineering Sdn Bhd; and Agus Mualim of Hj Zaini HZ Transportation.
Mohammad Shamsul Islam was the driver of the private vehicle.
The drivers were found to have committed several offences including unsafe ferrying of heavy cargo; Alex Puji was found to have committed a second offence on the same day.
Meanwhile, two vehicles belonging to LDY Engineering Sdn Bhd and Mohammad Shamsul Islam were compounded for being in poor condition. The department will continue to carry out operations to ensure owners and drivers of transport companies comply with the Road Traffic Act and Regulations.
