THE ‘E-Waste Recycling Day’ activity at the Anduki Recreational Park, Belait District yesterday aimed to provide a platform to properly dispose Electronic Waste (E-waste) comprising discarded electronic devices such as televisions, mobile phones, rice cookers, and microwaves.
The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe), Belait District Branch organised the activity to mark Earth Day 2018.
Several members from JASTRe, Belait District Branch along with staff from Imma Maya Enterprise participated in the event.
“The event this year themed ‘End Plastic Pollution’ aimed to promote awareness about the dangers of irresponsible littering,” said Mohammad Ramzan bin Rahman, Chief Environmental Inspector, Pollution Control Division, JASTRe Belait District Branch.
“We invited Imma Maya Enterprise to help gather E-waste to recycle materials and put them to good use,” he noted.
