ASMAWI Ismail finished the first session of the 23rd Baiduri Masters yesterday at pole position after collecting a gross score of 73 at the RBA Golf Club.
Last year’s ninth place finalist Suhaimi Ibrahim, was second with with a gross score of 74. Multiple-time Baiduri Masters champion, Seruji Haji Setia is currently third with 75, a press release stated.
Zulehram Yakub (76) and Pengiran Haji Ahmad Zaki (77) round off the top five positions.
The Baiduri Masters 2018 will continue today with an expected turnout of 180. While morning slots are full, there are still a few available for the afternoon session.
The Baiduri Masters 2018 is held over two weekends, from yesterday until tomorrow, and May 4-6. The top 16 gross players overall will get the opportunity to vie for the Green Jacket and the Challenge Trophy.
The golfers also have the chance to score the fantastic hole-in-one prizes of two luxury cars – BMW 740Li at Hole 14 and Mini Cooper S Countryman at Hole 5 – and three cash prizes of BND20,000 each for Holes 2, 12 and 16.
Additionally, there will be prizes up for grabs for the nearest to pin and for the longest drive throughout the tournament, apart from a lucky draw.
Proceeds raised during the Baiduri Masters will be donated to local charity organisations.
Interested golfers can still register for the tournament at the First Floor, VIP Room of the RBA Golf Club. Participants are encouraged to play more than once to improve their chances of winning, and get a BND10 discount on registration fee for their subsequent rounds.
The Baiduri Masters will be played on format System 36 (Stroke Play) and the challenge trophy will be decided on gross. It is divided into four divisions – Men’s, Group, Ladies and Junior.
The Men’s division is further divided into Men’s Gross, Men’s Nett and Senior Golfers Nett.
