HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam last night graced the prize presentation ceremony of the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy for ASEAN Youth Football Tournament 2018 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
His Majesty also presented the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy as well as the mock cheque to Timor Leste, the champions of the tournament.
Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
Shortly after the arrival of His Majesty and members of the royal family, the national anthem was played.
His Majesty then watched the final match between Cambodia and Timor Leste which ended 1-0 in favour of the latter.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah presented the Fair Play and Best Player accolades as well as medals to the champions and the runners-up and the mock cheque to Cambodia.
The Fair Play Award was won by Myanmar while Henrique Wilson Da Cruz from Timor Leste received the Best Player Award.
The champions of the tournament earned BND20,000 and the runners-up was awarded BND10,000 while the winners of the Fair Play and Best Player Award received plaques.
