The preliminary round saw students competing in teams through doing research, design and making prototype solutions to challenging engineering problems, in line with the IET’s vision and mission in promoting general advancement of science, engineering and technology, and also to facilitate exchange of information and ideas on the subjects among the public, especially students.
In the Brunei-Muara District, 48 Year 9 students participated in the first preliminary round at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) on April 29, which saw eight teams consisting six students per team competing.
