A KHATAM Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan was held yesterday evening at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan in Jalan Tutong.
The function commenced with the presence of the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of verses of Al-Quran led by Cabinet Ministers, followed by the reading of Takhtim and Tahlil.
The Doa Khatam was read by Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
The Dikir and Doa Dikir was read by mosque officers led by Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Kunchang.
The Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.
Also present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, members of the Privy Council, deputy ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Menteri-Menteri Hulubalang, members of the Legislative Council, permanent secretaries, and senior government officers.
