IN CONJUNCTION with the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan, the Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) has extended a helping hand to families in need at Kg Menunggol, Pulau Berambang.
MKM President Datin Paduka Hajah Intan binti Haji Mohd Kassim led the council to six houses to distribute food hampers and monetary donation.
In a statement to the media, Yusup bin Muhammad, the Village Head of Kg Menunggol, expressed gratitude to the council for providing aid for the upcoming fasting month.
The council also visited one of its legal aid clinic clients, Haji Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, to present additional donation in the form of a portable toilet and a bed.
Haji Rahman is on the road to recovery after suffering a stroke. He is currently residing with his widowed brother at Kg Menunggol.
Established in 2009, MKM is a non-government organisation (NGO) aimed at addressing social issues in the country, in addition to coordinating several local non-government organisations (NGOs) towards improving the well-being of vulnerable groups.
