THE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) through its Community Development Department yesterday morning received three separate monetary donations in a ceremony held at the ministry.
Receiving the donations on behalf of the ministry was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
The first donation of BND5,000, was a contribution from Datin Hajah Norhaidah binti Haji Sulaiman, Datin Hajah Norhayana Janis binti Abdullah, Datin Hajah Jama’iah binti Haji Abdul Manaf, Normah binti Ahmad, Hajah Honeyta binti Haji Mustapha, and Pengiran Hajah Noor Yashimah binti Pengerian Anak Haji Hashim from the Association of Wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries.
The second donation of BND2,070 was a contribution from the 1979-1981 batch Science Stream students of Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School.
It was presented to the minister by Haji Mohd Soffi bin Orang Kaya Seri Wijaya Haji Abdullah and Haji Basuni bin Haji Ashaari.
The donation of BND3,500 was presented by Colonel (Rtd) Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Yahya of LS & A Sdn Bhd to the National Orphans Fund.
Others in attendance at the ceremony included Permanent Secretary at the MCYS Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Acting Director of the Department of Community Development Rostinah binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Sura Pahlawan Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Tahir and senior officers from the Community Development Department.
