THE Department of Councils of State held a Tedarus and Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to mark the holy month of Ramadhan at its building in Jalan Menteri Besar.
The guest of honour was Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council (LegCo) Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Judin bin Haji Asar. Members of the LegCo were also present. The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony began with mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustafa bin Haji Murat, followed by the recitation of Doa Khatam, Doa Tahlil and Zikir Asyrakal.
The ceremony also saw handover of donations to two officers under the Sports and Social Welfare Body, followed by mass Maghrib prayer and Sungkai.
