THE Traffic Control and Investigation Department (JSKLL), Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) recently conducted joint operation in all four districts in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
The operation involved 247 personnel and officers from law enforcement agencies including the Land Transport Department (JPD), the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED), the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Religious Enforcement Section (RES).
The operation, held last Tuesday night in Brunei –Muara District, was led by ASP Pengiran Omar Ali bin Pengiran Mashor from the JSKLL and it was the third day of the operation since June 10.
The three-day long joint operation found that 200 compound offences were fined by RBPF, 32 by JPD, seven by RCED, eight offences under INRD Act, two offences under NCB Act and 19 offences under RES Act.
The main objective of the operation was to ensure that road users comply with the traffic laws and the public maintain their vehicles in good condition.
In addition, the concept ‘Stop & Search’ and ‘Stop & Talk’ was also promoted throughout the operation with the aim to create interaction and trust among the public to prevent criminal activities in the country.
