AZIM Yusof from Brunei has been shortlisted among 21 finalists for the Shell LiveWIRE Top Ten Innovators Awards, a global competition which highlights and rewards businesses that demonstrate excellence in innovation.
According to a Royal Dutch Shell PLC press release, the awards are open to alumni of Shell LiveWIRE, Shell’s flagship enterprise development programme. This year’s awards are delivered in partnership with Shell Retail and will identify outstanding Shell LiveWIRE businesses which can enhance the sustainability of Shell Retail business and operations.
Winners will be named in the categories of Energy Solutions, Retail Supply Chain and Social Enterprises. Shell believes that by supporting new ideas and entrepreneurs who are innovating in waste reduction, energy-efficient solutions, cleaner energy and positive social impact, together we will progress towards meeting our goal of more and cleaner energy solutions, taking great strides along our journey to a low-carbon future.

Public voting is open from June 25 to July 1, through https://www.livewire.shell/topteninnovators and the public vote results will help determine the 10 winners; the ranking of the Top Ten, determined by an expert panel of judges, will be announced during Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018 (GEW2018).

If CT Learn is named a Top Ten Innovator, they have the opportunity to claim one of three top prizes of USD20,000 or one of six runners-up prizes of USD10,000. In addition, an Outstanding Achievement Award Winner will receive USD10,000. All 10 winners receive an award package, including mentoring support by a Shell expert, the opportunity to benefit from market linkages, global exposure, possibility to be considered a vendor to Shell (Retail) and can participate in a two-day exciting Top Ten Innovators event during GEW2018.
According to Azim Yusof, CT Learn, which is under the Top Ten Innovator’s Social Enterprises Category is a platform connecting students and teachers according to district, subject and time available. The service is a web-based platform where students and teachers can apply as a home tutor.
The 2017 Global Top Ten Innovators overall winner, Carlton Cummins founder of UK business Aceleron, partnered with the Shell Foundation to enable its revolutionary waste battery energy storage technology to provide accessible, affordable, energy solutions to off-grid communities in East Africa.
