HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade yesterday night graced the Brunei-China Friendship Association’s Hari Raya get-together ceremony at the Tarindak D’Seni.
Accompanying Her Royal Highness was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara.
President of the Brunei-China Friendship Association, Dr Muhammad Firdaus Abdul Rahman in his opening remark said, “The Brunei-China Friendship Association is a local organisation with the aim of establishing friendly relations between both countries in various fields such as community, culture, education, economy and so on.”
Through the Hari Raya Aidilfitri get-together, he said, “Members and people of ASEAN and China will be able to know the different ways of life and culture.
“This event is also organised in an effort to promote the concept of Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) which teaches us to always practise the concept of simplicity and harmony in life and introduce the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration to non-Muslim friends,” he added.
Her Royal Highness also witnessed the presentation of donation to 20 orphans of Chung Hwa Middle School Bandar Seri Begawan by Haji Ahmad Morshidi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Abdul Rahman, the chairperson of the organising committee as well as members of the association.
Also present were prominent figures in the local community.
