Two of the new ambulances are four-wheel-drive type vehicles. The new fleet is replacing six ageing ambulances, bringing the total number of operational ambulances across all districts to 30 in four sub-stations.

Apart from enhancing response and efficiency, the MoH said it hopes this will also bring more comfort to patients.

Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) Dr Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abdul Latif, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Management) Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin and senior MoH officials were also in attendance.
