HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday graced Brunei Darussalam polo team’s opening match against Pakistan in the His Majesty’s 72nd Birthday Polo Tournament at the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong.
His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah were also present to watch the match.
Also in attendance were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Hakeem and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul ‘Aleem.
Brunei made a perfect start in the tournament after a 10-4.5 win over Pakistan while Singapore edged Malaysia 6-5.5 in a tightly contested affair.
The competition continues today with Brunei taking on Malaysia while the Philippines play Singapore.
