THE Land Transport Department (JPD) recently held a dialogue session with the operators of goods and passenger transport companies at JPD Headquarters in Beribi, Jalan Gadong.
Acting Director of JPD Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud and senior officers of JPD were present.
The dialogue session served to explain series of operations and patrols carried out by the Enforcement Division of JPD and Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) on the road around the country to ensure the safety, well-being and comfort of the public, especially road users.
Road Traffic Acts and Regulations including fines and Driver Safety Practice System (SiKAP) demerit points and grounds for suspension of the Rent and Hire Licence of transport vehicle companies were explained.
The session also shared best practices of road safety including not using mobile phones while driving, not overloading and having mutual sense of responsibility to safeguard road safety in the country.
