A PRESENTATION of donations to Asnaf Fakir Miskin in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri 1437H/2016 was held yesterday during a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony for a congregation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Held at the Kampong Salambigar Mosque, the event saw Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs cum guest of honour Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud presenting the donations.
The Tedarus Al-Quran began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour to commence the Al-Quran reading.
This was followed by an explanation of Tafseer of Al-Quran and its conclusion presented by Pengiran Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit, Senior Religious Officer at the Al-Quran Study and Propagation Centre (MABIMS).
The ceremony continued with a mass recitation of Tahlil and Doa Arwah led by Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Bungsu, the Imam of Kampong Salambigar Mosque.

Later, the guest of honour presenting the donations to the Asnaf Fakir Miskin.
Also present was Deputy Permanent Secretaries Haji Harun bin Haji Junid and Roslan bin Haji Taja’ah; heads of departments and divisions, officers and staff of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The $500 donation was presented to every family head, while dependents under them were given $400. Thirty families received the donations allocated from the Zakat Asnaf Fakir Miskin Fund.
