THE National Silat Tournament held in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 72nd birthday celebration started yesterday afternoon at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
The guest of honour that launched the tournament was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud.
The athletes’ vow was led by Anisah Najihah binti Abdullah, gold medallist in ASEAN School Games, BIMP-EAGA Games and Brunei Darussalam National Games.
The referees and judges’ vow was led by Haji Salleh bin Haji Malan.
The guest of honour was then introduced to the teams before officiating the tournament.
