POPULAR online store, FashionValet, which carries over 500 brands of clothing from top Malaysian and Indonesian designers, is hoping to feature more designer brands from Brunei for a global clientele.
Currently, FashionValet only carries the Na Forrér brand from Brunei, which offers trendy clothing for working professionals.
In an interview at the local FashionValet pop-up store at The Empire Hotel & Country Club, Vivy Sofinas Yusof, who runs FashionValet, said, “We definitely welcome Brunei fashion designers to showcase their collections on FashionValet. We want to place all Asean designers under one platform, and I am still looking for more Bruneian designers to join.”
According to Vivy, public response has been positive to the decision to bring in the top 30 Bruneian brands, based on analysis from e-commerce at the pop-up store.
“We have a lot of Bruneian online customers in FashionValet, and it has been non-stop traffic since morning. I was a bit nervous about the response, but it turns out that I have nothing to worry about – thanks to the support of the Brunei clientele,” she said.
“We have more than two miilion views a month, where 60 per cent of our customers are Malaysian, while 40 per cent are from Singapore, Brunei and Australia as well as from the United Kingdom,” she explained.
When asked about the success of FashionValet, she revealed, “It’s mainly because of having a good partner. I myself am a blogger and have a lot of followers on my blog, who eventually become my customers when I started FashionValet.
“I started the venture with my husband, with myself on the fashion side while he was on the financial side so we made a good team. I also need to thank my blog readers because they have been very supportive from the beginning of FashionValet.”
On the possibility of opening a flagship store in Brunei, she said, “We really want to open a store here, but we are currently researching and waiting for the right moment.”
This is Vivy’s second visit here, and she says that she really loves the people of Brunei, who are supportive and welcoming. She also has high hopes of FashionValet doing well in Brunei.
She hopes to organise another pop-up store not only for Hari Raya, but other occasions throughout the year.
“I would like to thank all the Bruneians who have supported FashionValet throughout the six years of our business. We have seen the growth in customers, and we hope that Bruneians will continue to support us,” she said.
Meanwhile, Veen Dee Tan, the Head of Marketing for FashionValet, said of the first-day response, “We have made 20K already and we hope to hit 40K in sales by the end of the day. It is amazing since this is the first time we have been here… and we didn’t know what to expect.”
At the pop-up store, FashionValet’s exclusive Raya collection is available for purchase, including Alia B, SyomirizwaGupta, NuritaHarith, Melinda Looi, Poplook Premium and Mimpikita.
The pop-up store is open from June 11 to 17 at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom at The Empire Hotel & Country Club from 10am to 10pm to cater to its many loyal customers and supporters in Brunei.
Standard Chartered, as their official bank partner in Brunei, gave customers a firsthand opportunity to preview and purchase FashionValet’s Raya collection yesterday, and also enjoy a 10 per cent discount for online and offline purchases.
