NATIONAL Wushu athlete Ang Guat Lian from Universiti Brunei Darussalam bagged the bronze medal in the Taichijian event at the 2018 FISU World University Wushu Championship currently taking place in Macau, China.
Ang Guat Lian finished with 9.05 points to take third place outscoring her nearest rival Megan Tsang of Canada who claimed fourth place with nine points.
Hong Kong’s Juanita Mok won the gold medal after scoring 9.27 points followed by Lituhayu Kamilia of Indonesia with 9.25 points.
“I am really happy with her performance. She did better than the previous Tajiquan event because she was a bit nervous during the first competition,” said national wushu coach Li Hun.
Mohd Sufi Shayiran bin Roslan will compete in the Nanquan event today.
