IN CONJUNCTION with National Savings Day 2018, Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) yesterday launched the Financial Fun Fair at the Jerudong Park Colonnade aimed at promoting financial literacy and green initiatives.
Carrying the theme ‘Financially Literate Generation’ the two-day event was launched by the Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong in his capacity as the Deputy Chairman of AMBD Board of Directors.
The objective of the fun fair was to provide an entertaining environment to learn financial management concepts such as saving, budgeting and debt management.
Local financial institutions Baiduri Bank, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Employees Trust Fund (TAP), Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK), Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), Insurans Islam TAIB along with the Ministry of Education participated in the event.
The family-oriented event offers games and activities suitable for all.
These include Escape Room, upcycling tips from UPSYKL Enterprise, doodling with Skethone, and Guess the Price competition.
Members form the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Cadet band also performed at the event.
As part of the National Savings Day 2018, AMBD will also organise a Financial Showcase at The Mall, Gadong on September 1-2.
