HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah, President of the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD), yesterday attended the 10th Community Day of PPPBD at its headquarters in Anggerek Desa, Berakas.
The celebration is an annual activity organised by the association which also coincided to mark the birthday of Her Royal Highness.
The ceremony saw the launching of a bazaar called Berdikari Berkongsi Rezeki by Her Royal Highness in line with this year’s theme based on the principle of PPPBD.
Thirteen young entrepreneurs and senior citizens participated in the bazaar with the main objectives of creating a platform to promote and support the development of young entrepreneurs and senior citizens.
Chief Commissioner of PPPBD Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim said the bazaar participants were invited to sell their products with no fees applied.
The ceremony also saw Her Royal Highness Princess presenting certificates of appreciation to the bazaar’s participants followed by a birthday cake-cutting ceremony. Her Royal Highness also toured the bazaar.
As part of the celebration, ‘Guidethon’ cards were also distributed to increase fund for various activities organised by the association in-and-outside the country.
Among the objectives were to expose and educate the PPPBD members to assist the community, especially those in need of assistance and to instil and strengthen identity, discipline and working spirit through community activities.
