THE ‘Exercise Pahlawan Warrior 2018’ between the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) and the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) concluded at the FIBUA Complex, Penanjong Garrison recently.
The eight-day joint exercise, aimed at strengthening cooperation among army divisions and enhancing the skills of their military personnel through jungle training and urban operations, was the first exercise conducted between the two army divisions of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the United States Armed Forces.
The closing ceremony began with a mission brief delivered by Officer Commanding of C Company, 1Bn RBLF Major Khairul Faizin bin Abdul Ghapar followed by a live demonstration involving helicopters from the Royal Brunei Air Force, armoured reconnaissance vehicles (tracked) and armoured personnel carriers.
Present as the guest of honour was RBLF Chief of Staff Colonel Khairil bin Haji Ismail.
Deputy Commanding General – National Guard, USARPAC Major General Timothy McKeithen, senior officers and personnel of the RBAF and the US Army National Guard were also present.
Commanding Officer, First Battalion of the RBLF Major Mohammad Roasri Erwan bin Haji Tasrif handed over the exercise flag to Lieutenant Colonel Shawn Eaken, Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion, 151st Infantry Regiment, US Army National Guard.
Meanwhile, Major General Timothy McKeithen paid a courtesy call to RBAF Commander Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud on the sidelines of the exercise. Both parties reaffirmed the exercise’s goal of enhancing professionalism and interoperability in both countries’ armed forces.
