THE Brunei National Road Safety Council (BNRSC) yesterday held a mass Sunnat Hajat prayer and a recitation of Ratib Al-Attas at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in RPN Kampong Mentiri.
Present were Legislative Council member cum Ambassador of the BNRSC Yang Berhormat Iswandy bin Ahmad and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications (MinCom) cum Secretary of BNRSC Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad. Also present were Executive Head of Brunei Insurance and Takaful Association cum Ambassador of BNRSC Haji Osman bin Haji Md Jair, officers and staff of MinCom and departments under it and members of BNRSC as well as teachers and students of Dato Mohd Yassin Religious School in RPN Kampong Mentiri.
The mass Sunnat Hajat prayer is a monthly activity carried out by the council, specifically to seek protection and blessings from Allah the Almighty for the safety of road users.
The prayer also reflected continuous efforts taken by the council to seek blessings for all their planning towards ensuring and enhancing road safety.
Motorists were also urged to always prioritise their safety as well as those of others by wearing seatbelts, not using mobile phones while driving and comply with speed limit and road signs.
