Nationwide Takbir marks Aidiladha celebration

THE sounds of Takbir to mark the eve of Hari Raya Aidiladha 1439 Hijrah were heard in all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide after the Isyak prayer last night with the main focus at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong.

Acting Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar was the guest of honour at the Takbir ceremony.

The event began with a brief talk on the importance of the Takbir by Mosque Affairs Officer Awangku Ahmad Fariz Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin. Those present then proceeded to carry out the Takbir in unison.

The ceremony concluded with the Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam read by the Officer at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Suhaili bin Haji Metali Al-Hafiz.

Present to enliven the Takbir ceremony were mosque youth groups from the Brunei-Muara District, youth groups under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, personnel of the Royal Brunei Police Force, officers from the Prisons Department, alumni of the National Service Programme, students of the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), students of Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, students of the Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School, as well as residents.

The Takbir Muqayyad, carried out after prayers, was especially for the Aidiladha for those who are not performing the Haj. The Takbir begins from Fajr (dusk) of the day of Arafah until Asar (afternoon) of the day of Tasyrik.

Also present were the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, as well as officers and staff of the ministry.
