YAYASAN Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) yesterday held a Tahlil ceremony for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s late parents, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, at the Royal Mausoleum.
His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Committee of Governors of Yayasan, attended the Tahlil ceremony.
The Tahlil recitation was led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin, Judge of the Syariah Appeal Court Judge.
Also present were Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, a board member of the Committee of Governors of Yayasan; Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Chairman of Yayasan Board of Directors; Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Vice Chairman I of Yayasan Board of Directors; and Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Vice Chairman II of Yayasan Board of Directors.
His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik later sprinkled ‘Ayeng Asah-Asahan’ or scented waters on the tombs of His Royal Highness’ grandparents.
Around 150 members of Yayasan Board of Directors, members of the Board of Trustees of the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans; officers and staff of Yayasan; teachers of YSHHB schools as well as residents of Kampong Bolkiah ‘A’ and Kampong Bolkiah ‘B’ housing schemes attended the religious ceremony.
